10 Ways To Drive More Revenue With Your Amazon Affiliate Strategy

Look, I know you have a lot on your plate.

Pressure to create new content every day. Managing your blog. Social channels. Responding to emails. Life.

So chances are, you’re leaving money on the table with your current Amazon Affiliate strategy.

To make your life super easy, I asked 3 successful influencers - Sam Mathews (@wearedanandsam), Dorothy Kern (@crazyforcrust), and Lexi Davidson (@lexiscleankitchen) - to walk me through exactly what they do to bring in Amazon Affiliate revenue.

From curating Idea Lists and automating DMs, to leveraging email marketing and Amazon App Links, these actionable tips are designed to help you monetize your content ASAP.

If you’re ready to turn your followers’ clicks into commissions, this is the playbook you need.

1. Promote What You Love

Nothing matters more than being authentic. You have to share products you genuinely use and love. If you don’t, your audience will smell it from a mile away and you’ll lose their trust.

Sam (@wearedanandsam) knows, "If I bought it and love it, I’m sure my followers will too." Which means she shares everything from fashion to dupes and home decor.

At least once a day, she links to a product in her stories. And if she ever forgets to include one, her followers are all over it. Which means they’re hungry for more.

Dorothy (@crazyforcrust) sticks to what she knows, too. “I always try to find the exact product I love since I'm recommending them to people, so even if there is a cheaper option I use the exact product I have. I would hate to recommend a cheaper option and have it not work as well.”

Because of this, she typically stays away from bonus products. But that doesn’t mean you have to. If you keep an eye on the “New Opportunities” in your Amazon Affiliate account, you can filter by category and keep an eye out for products you really do use and love that have an additional incentive.

The lesson? When you know what resonates with your audience and stick to sharing products you know and love, it’s hard to lose.

2. Tap Into Your Niche

Sharing products that align with your content makes recommendations feel seamless rather than salesy.

For example, most of the products Dorothy shares are kitchen or baking-related items that she uses to make her recipes. Like this measuring cup that’s perfect for messy ingredients like peanut butter:

And while Sam shares a broader range of products with her audience, her surrogacy journey means linking to products like her workout outfits and hospital bag picks are a perfect fit for her audience.

So lean into why your followers are there in the first place. Share products you love that align with exactly what your audience craves and you’re golden.

3. Highlight Real-Time Usage

When you share products as you’re using and loving them, it feels more like a friend making a recommendation she knows you’ll love than anything else.

This works wonders for Lexi (@lexiscleankitchen) “Throughout the week, I link to products my family and I are actually using in real time.”

That looks like sharing everything from her favorite kitchen tools:

To products she can’t live without when they travel:

Showing exactly how she uses the products in her daily life builds trust and shows her audience that she’s sharing products that she genuinely can’t live without.

4. Find The Right Price Point

This will depend entirely on your audience. Sam finds that items in the $10-$20 range perform best, but also notes that high-ticket "life-changing" products can still generate strong engagement.

So don’t be afraid to experiment to find what price point resonates with your followers. Because ultimately, you want them to want to find out more when you post about a product. But if they feel like you’re consistently sharing items that are out of reach, over time your engagement will decline. Finding the right balance is key.

5. Automate The Process

Chances are, you’re constantly being asked for links to your favorite products. Which is amazing! But can also be tedious and time consuming. But it doesn’t have to be.

Sam swears by DM automations (using our Comment For Recipe feature) for driving affiliate sales. Here’s what that looks like for a table runner she loves:

Here’s another great automation example from Alessandra Ciuffo (@flavorsbyalessandra):

More sales and better engagement. Who doesn’t want that?

6. Make Email Marketing Work For You

Use your emails to share curated recommendations or exclusive finds. For Dorothy, email has been the major winner:

“My email list is what gives me the most clicks for the most part. I do link to products in my blog posts, but it's hard to tell without a lot of segmenting how much is actually coming from there, but whenever I include a link (or do an affiliate specific email) I get tons of clicks.”

Here’s a killer example of an affiliate email she’s sent:

Lexi takes a similar approach. About once a week, she includes affiliate links at the very top of her email with a quick blurb like this:

So if email isn’t already part of your affiliate strategy, now’s the time to add it to the mix.

7. Make Your Products Super Easy To Find

You spend so much time finding and sharing products you love. Don’t just rely on your audience to see your stories, posts, or emails.

Like you, they’re busy. So make sure you have a place for them to go back to!

Lexi makes the most of her Instagram stories by saving them to her “Amazon finds” highlight.

This creates an evergreen resource for followers to access recommendations any time.

She also has a Lifestyle section on her site that includes everything from blog posts to gift guides that include affiliate links.

Dorothy has a similar strategy on her website with Crumbs

Another really low lift way to make the products you love super easy to find? Add a deep link of your Amazon storefront as an alternative link your bio, exactly like Nisha Melvani (@cookingforpeanuts) does here:

(By the way, she uses Grocers List for this!)

While posts, stories and emails should be a major piece of your Amazon Affiliate playbook, you’re leaving money on the table if you don’t have a place your audience can go to find your recommendations. Saving your stories to a dedicated highlight is a really low lift way to get started.

8. Curate Idea Lists

All 3 creators leverage Amazon Idea Lists, the perfect place to curate and categorize your favorite products.

Lexi makes shopping easy for her audience by creating Idea Lists tailored to specific occasions. Whether it’s a holiday, a trip, or seasonal needs, these lists provide a one-stop-shop for followers.

Then, she can send her followers directly to a specific list:

This approach not only simplifies the shopping experience for your audience but also increases the chance of a sale by targeting specific needs and allowing them to find the right list at the exact time they’re looking.

9. Experiment with Formats

Sam posts daily Amazon affiliate links in Instagram Stories, while Dorothy Kern integrates them into blog posts, email campaigns, and reels. Testing different formats across platforms allows them to see where their audiences engage most so they know where to double down.

Maybe your followers love reels. Maybe they respond better to curated blog content. Experiment to find your sweet spot.

10. Make The Experience Seamless

Sam’s secret to reaching Amazon’s Platinum Creator Stars status? Consistently using Amazon App Links in her promotions.

“Since adding in Amazon App Links, I had my highest month of Amazon Affiliate commission and I hit Platinum creator stars status. That is the highest tier for Amazon Influencers. Such a cool thing to hit plus the extra commission from all the Amazon App Links is an added bonus.”

This allows you to send people directly to the Amazon App, rather than a browser they’re not logged into. This significantly decreases friction and can help you earn 5x more affiliate sales.
