Announcing Story Reply Keyword Automations

Today we’re excited to announce that our new automation type, story reply keywords, is LIVE.


Many of our food creators were noticing that when they include clickable links in their instagram stories, that entire batch of stories would get less views.

That’s because instagram prefers to keep traffic inside the app. So by including clickable links in stories, you’re making it easy for traffic to leave the instagram app. So it makes sense why they do this.

The whole idea behind story reply keywords is to keep your links out of the story, and put them in a DM.

Story keywords work similarly to post keywords, except they trigger when someone replies to your story instead of comments on your post.


Add a story keyword.

If you’re on any paid plan with grocers list, you’ll be able to add a story keyword. You’ll see this automation type immediately when you login.

Customize the DM respsonse.

When adding a new story reply keyword, you’ll be able to edit the DM response to include custom text, and even add up to two more buttons that get sent out.

When to use a story reply keyword?

So far it’s been amazing to see how our food creators are using story reply keywords. We recommend using this campaign to drive 3 main benefits:
